Polar Plunge Event is Saturday, March 30 to benefit Special Olympics of Colorado
Join participants on Saturday, March 30 for the Annual Polar Plunge at Nottingham Lake in Avon to benefit Special Olympics of Colorado. Registration begins at 11 a.m.; the Plunge takes place at 1 p.m. as participants submerge themselves in the water despite the cold temperatures.

Polar Plunge Teams consist of various local law enforcement agency officers and public service employees, as well as community residents. In the spirit of a friendly competition, officers from the Vail Police Department have challenged the Avon Police Department as to who can raise the most funds in support of Special Olympics of Colorado. If you wish to support Vail Police Department or Avon Police Department, visit specialolympicsco.org  to register or donate and go to the Avon – Mar 30 page.

For more information, contact Sgt. Mike Bindle of the Vail Police Department at mbindle@vailgov.com or Officer Al Zepeda of the Avon Police Department at azepeda@avon.org.
