Free public parking returns to the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, April 22. This includes free overnight parking until May 24 when a $25 fee will be implemented for the second season to discourage vehicle storage.
The summer parking program will extend to Oct. 7 and will include free daytime access to the structures for all users as well free public access to the new Red Sandstone parking garage on the North Frontage Road. As an additional option, overnight parking in the Red Sandstone garage will be available at no charge for up to 72 hours throughout the summer.
Parking passes issued for the 2018-2019 season, with the exception of Pink passes, will be exempt from the overnight fees. Other exemptions include employees who work overnight shifts in Vail Village or Lionshead, as well as guests of lodges with limited on-site parking. Please see map for qualified properties. Current Pink pass holders who will be working overnight shifts during the summer are asked to contact their employer to make arrangements with the town’s Parking Pass Office to obtain a parking pass for the summer at no charge.
Value card holders will be able to use their pass for free daytime access to the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures this summer. If the vehicle is parked in either structure between the hours of 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., a $25 fee will be assessed on the card. As in previous years, Value card holders will need to bring proof of eligibility to the town’s parking offices in November for recertification.
