Seasonal Closure of Gore Valley Recreation Trail at Dowd Junction Scheduled for Nov. 9

The seasonal closure of the Gore Valley Recreation Trail through Dowd Junction is scheduled for early in the day on Monday, Nov. 9. The trail is closed during the first snowstorms of the season, which typically triggers deer and elk migration through the Mud Springs wildlife underpass which crosses under the trail.

Vail Parking Pass Sales Begin Oct. 26 with Incentive for Early Purchase

Season parking passes will be ready for purchase beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26 on the lower level of the Vail Municipal Building, 75 S. Frontage Road, with an added incentive for those who make their purchase early. The first 500 buyers will receive a voucher good for a free day of parking to be redeemed any time during the season, a value of $30. The free voucher is good for individual customers and is being offered for the fourth season to help reduce last-minute crowding. The offer is good for new pass purchases only and does not apply to bulk purchases.

Winter Snow Removal Operations Begin Nov. 9

The Town of Vail will soon be transitioning to its winter snow removal operations. As such, no on-street parking will be available within the town beginning Monday, Nov. 9 and continuing through April 18. Throughout the winter season, the Public Works Department is prepared to maintain Vail’s frontage roads and residential streets in a timely manner during and following each snowstorm. However, for efficient snow removal operations on Vail’s streets, residents and homeowners are asked to follow the town’s snow removal policies.

Vail Parks Transition to Winter Season

Public restrooms in most of Vail's town parks will be shutting down at the end of the day on Thursday, Oct. 22 in preparation for the winter season. The closures coincide with incoming weather this weekend with temperatures dropping below 20 degrees. The closures will impact facilities at Ford Park, Bighorn Park, Red Sandstone Park, Stephens Park, Ellefson Park and Buffehr Creek Park. Please plan accordingly. These restrooms will be reopened in the spring.
