Call for Artists - Recycled Art Installation Letterhead

The Town of Vail’s Environmental Sustainability Department invites artists to submit proposals for consideration in the design and creation of a temporary art installation in town to educate the public about the importance of waste diversion (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) as it relates to climate change and impacts on the mountain ecosystem. Proposals must include images of previous art work (sculptures, paintings, drawings, mosaics, architectural works, etc.) as well as a vision and rendering for the proposed art installation.

Request For Proposal – Gore Valley Trail - Lionshead Realignment Feasibility Analysis

The Town of Vail, Colorado is seeking proposals for professional services from qualified design teams for Professional Engineering Design services to complete a feasibility analysis for the relocation of a section the Gore Valley Trail in the vicinity of the Vail Resorts owned and operated Lionshead Ski Base, Eagle Bahn Gondola and Born Free Express Lift. The Gore Valley Trail is a Town of Vail managed recreational multiuse trail running from West Vail to East Vail primarily along Gore Creek, a tributary of the Eagle River. The existing trail alignment through the study area (west to east) crosses beneath the Lionshead Skier Bridge, ascends a very steep, curving slope and enters the congested Lionshead ski base area before continuing east along Gore Creek. The study section of the Gore Valley Trail is approximately 1000 feet in length. The layout of the trail realignment is complicated by the lift cables, chair and rider paths, safety netting and lift buildings for the Eagle Bahn Gondola and Born Free Express Lift.

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that one vacancy exists on the Town of Vail Design Review Board (DRB) and letters of interest and resumes are being accepted. Applicants must be residents of the Town of Vail. The term of the appointment begins September 3, 2019 and expires on March 31, 2020 (a partial one year term). The DRB meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month and are held at 3:00 p.m. in the Vail Municipal Building. Duties of the five-member DRB include reviewing the design of new structures, remodels, sign requests, landscaping plans and other architectural and aesthetic matters.

Invitation To Bid - Gore Creek Access and Stabilization

The Town of Vail is seeking a qualified contractor to construct the Gore Creek Access and Stabilization – Bridge Road Project.  The work includes construction of a siloam stone watercraft launch area, streambank stabilization work, grading work, installation of a gravel trail, paver loading zone and guardrail and the installation of native vegetation.  Work is anticipated for September and October of 2019.

The work includes regrading approximately 500 feet of streambed in Gore Creek with multiple drop structures and scour protection for the existing streambanks and retaining wall.
